Finding Your Purpose

"The two most important days in your life are the day you were born,

and the day you find out WHY." ~ Mark Twain

There comes a point in life when you have to learn to ignore the opinions of those that surround you, in order to move into your destiny. Sometimes, that even means losing your so called positive "go to" people... maybe not forever... just for a season.

When you hear a constant voice whispering "there's got to be more"... listen to it!!

That voice, in itself, prompts you to dig into who you really are to determine your next step.

So what if people don't agree with you?!!

Word to the wise, if everyone IS agreeing with you, you probably need to re-evaluate your situation because chances are you've become part of a complacent group of "people pleasers" and you are settling for the easy road.

Don't do that!

It's ok to be a loner sometimes. If the goal you're trying to attain is to be healthy and you know that the Krispy Kreme "hot now" sign is on at 5 o'clock and if you drive by you'll stop, then either kill some time before heading home, or go an alternate route. Trust me, I have the Krispy Kreme problem and it's hard to keep driving but I have to do it. If you don't want to drink and you always do when you go out with friends, then stay home!! It's not the end of the world to sit at home on a Friday and/or Saturday night!

Figure out your goals and map out a plan. I know that sounds cliché but it's totally what you have to do!! Unless you're me, in which case I tend to jump first and think later, lol. Sometimes it works out, sometimes I have to start over... but either way you look at it, I'm moving and maneuvering my way through it.

Start with small goals. Goals that you know are attainable. Once you start seeing results, it'll give you that much more enthusiasm to set the bar higher.

No matter how big or small your dreams are, ALWAYS pursue them!!!

Never allow your dreams to be destroyed at the expense of someone else. Don't allow people to be your voice... stand up for yourself and be enthusiastic about what you bring to the table. If people don't like what you're doing and feel the need to voice their opinion, well think of it this way... a good disagreement never really hurt anybody and sometimes it could be the very thing that propels you to the next level of awareness.

Be intentional. Live your life knowing that you are making a difference. It's up to you whether you make a positive or negative impact on the lives around you.

Just always remember that what you give in this world, you will get back. Choose to walk in your purpose and you will always reap good results.
